I am an Assistant Professor in the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department at UC Berkeley. I received my PhD in Operations Research from MIT, where I had the privilege of being advised by James B. Orlin and Andreas S. Schulz. Before joining UC berkeley, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the IEOR department at Columbia University, where I had the pleasure of working with Vineet Goyal and Garud Iyengar. I also received a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay.
My research revolves around the design of provably good and practical algorithms for optimization under uncertainty. I seek to find and study from a theoretical lens, models that capture key algorithmic aspects of real-life problems. My current focus is on problems in revenue management and pricing, especially for online platforms. In general, I am interested in classical and pervasive problems such as submodular function maximization as well as application-driven problems such as appointment scheduling in health care services.
